Sugar Cane

Description

Sugarcane plants are two to six meters tall with stout, jointed fibrous stalks that are rich in sucrose, which accumulates in stalked internodes. Tana River has emerged as a key alternative for sugarcane farming in the county through Tana – Galalu irrigation project but farmers are also embedding sugarcane along the river banks and some use the irrigation methods.
